1. Contact & Schedule

Schedule a date & time that works for you and your community. We coordinate everything with you.

2. Event Setup

We arrive with a professional table setup, phones & all necessary materials. Typical events last 2-3 hours.

3. Resident Signup

Qualifying residents line up, we verify eligibility, and provide phones with immediate activation and setup assitance.

4. Clean Departure & Support

We pack up & leave your space exactly as we found it. Follow up & support residents if needed. We can book an event for the following month to help residents who were not present during the event.

How to get your Free Phone as a Resident.

1. Attend an Event at your community

We organize free phone events at your housing community. Check with your property manager about upcoming events, or contact us to organize one.

What to bring:

  • Photo ID : Driver's license, State ID, Passport.

  • Proof of eligibility : benefits card/letter, ssi statement or income proof.

2. We will help you apply

Our team will guide you through the simple application process.We verify your eligibility, submit your request & answer any questions you may have.

3. Get your phone

California Lifeline is a state program that provides discounted mobile service to eligible low income households, aiming to make communications more affordable & help residents stay connected.

How do I prove my Lifeline eligibility?

We verify your eligibility for the California Lifeline benefit in 2 ways: 1) Program based qualification, we will first check a national database to see if we can automatically verify your participation in a government assistance program like Medi-Cal, Cal-Fresh, or SSI or 2) Income based qualification, to do this you will need to submit supporting documents like paystubs, income statements or tax returnrs for verification.

How much does it cost?

It cost absolutley nothing! You can enjoy your new phone & wireless service at NO COST.

How much does it cost to call internationally?

You can call 2 ways, either using WhatsApp and then you would have Free Unlimited International Calling ( Whatsapp has more than 3 billion users), or you can call using your wireless carrier and we will provide you with the phone number to customer service to help you current pricing and rates.

Is the Wireless lifeline program truly free?

Yes, the base plan of unlimited talk, text is free & data between (2-8 GB), allowances vary by carriers & are subject to change. There are additional charges for international calling & purchasing data and charges vary by wireless companies.

How long is the wireless service free for & how do I renew service?

The California Lifeline administrator requires all existing California Lifeline customers to renew their participation on an annual basis. Each year before your Lifeline anniversary date, you'll receive a California Lifeline renewal form to submit your proof of eligibility.

How are California Lifeline wireless services Free? Who funds or pays for program?

California LifeLine is funded through surcharges on telecommunications bills - not taxpayer dollars. Participants are exempt from paying phone bill surcharges and fees.

Can I use this phone to make video calls with my grandchildren or my Dr. ?

Yes, your phone includes data for video calling. You can use popular apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, Google Meet, Zoom and other websites to make video calls to your friends and family.

What if the free phone is lost, stolen or broken?

Upon activation, we will provide you with the customer service number for your wireless carrier, and they will assist you with device replacement, renewal or other concerns.

We were unable to attend your most recent Free Phone event, when will you return to our community?

We are working with your community managers and plan on returning in the next 14-30 days, based on your community's calendar of events and schedule. However, we understand how important it is for you to have a wireless phone, we can meet with you and get you taken care of. Please fill out our contact form and we will follow up with you. Our goal is to make it easy for you and other members of your community with monthly events to ensure everyone is covered and connected.
